Truncation in Annie

You can use asterisks (*) in Annie's Keyword searching mode to substitute for one or more characters, thus allowing you to expand a search.

• A single asterisk will substitute for 1 to 5 characters. Example: environment* will find environment, environmental, environmentally, environmentalist, etc.
• Two asterisks will substitute for 6 or more characters. Example: consti** will find constitution, constitutional, etc., but will also find constipation and constituent -- be very cautious when using the double asterisk.
