Leyburn Library is a selective Depository for U.S. Federal Government
Publications, as are our Law Library and VMI's Preston Library. However, even our combined collections
contain only a small fraction of materials available from the Federal Government.
Most items not in the Depository collection at W&L are available on the Web (see below) and/or through interlibrary loan.

The most generally-useful database of Federal Government publications over the past 30 years is the Catalog of U.S. Government Publications.
The commercially-published LexisNexis Congressional database provides the most comprehensive coverage of publications and other documents created by Congress.
Particularly useful for research might be the committee hearings collection.
Several agencies routinely provide oversight of Federal Government issues and performance.
There is an "official" Federal Government search engine for searching U.S. government Web pages -- USAGov.
