Scanning and Printing Service

The University Library, in conjunction with the Computing Help Desk, is now offering large format scanning and printing. We can print and scan items up to 42” wide.
Printing will cost $12 to $20 per job, depending on size, while most scanning will be free of charge. This service is open to students and faculty for academic use only.

African American National Biography

This month Oxford University Press is publishing the printed version of the landmark African American National Biography, with over 4,000 entries, the largest biographical project on black history ever attempted.
Washington and Lee researchers have had access to AANB for some months, through the library’s subscription to the online Oxford African American Studies Center.
Among the latest updates to the AANB is a biography of Barack Obama, written by Randall Kennedy.
Oxford has begun work on adding 2,000 mroe biographical entries to the AANB< appearing first in the online Oxford African American Studies Center. Access if offered through several pages in the library’s Web site, including here.
