Local E-Book Connections

The University Library recently acquired two respected reference works in electronic book form which are all the more noteworthy for the local connections of two contributing scholars.

One of the most important multivolume sets in its subject area in recent years, Congressional Quarterly Press’s authoritative Encyclopedia of Political Science contains about 1,500 signed entries, including one on “redistricting” from W&L Professor of Politics Mark Rush, currently on extended leave.

The two-volume Facts on File Companion to American Poetryincludes over 100 entries contributed by W&L alumnus Temple Cone.

Both of these works are available to W&L researchers from campus and off-campus locations.

Faculty Left Hanging

Perhaps we should be more explicit.

Now hanging on the the Washington and Lee University Library’s “W&L Publications” wall, on the Leyburn Library Main Floor, is a display of works by faculty members Ted DeLaney, Lisa Alty, Genelle Gertz, David Peterson, and Suzanne Keen.

This display is changed every few weeks to feature recent works by a different group of various W&L authors.
