For our amazing graduating seniors —
Due to restrictions imposed by database publishers, shortly after you graduate you will lose access to most of the commerical online databases provided by W&L’s University Library and Law Library.
However, the University Library’s Friends of the Library and the W&L Office of Alumni Affairs have contracted to provide alumni — including new 2013 graduates — with ongoing access to four article databases:
- Project Muse
- Academic Search Alumni Edition
- Business Source Alumni Edition
To use these services, you will need to have and use your Colonnade Connections ID and password, entering through this Friends of the Library link.
The Washington and Lee University Library seeks to acquire and preserve copies of all W&L student honors theses. This effort extends back to the first decade of the 20th century and now includes the option to perserve and make available theses in online form.
Seniors Graduating with Honors: Please don’t forget to fill out a permission form and submit your digital file for inclusion in W&L’s Digital Repository at this link.
You can view a more-or-less complete list of items in our honors thesis collection in Annie, the library catalog.
Faculty and staff of the University Library are active participants in Washington and Lee’s Digital Humanities (DH) Working Group, which is “investigating the ways in which DH can enhance both teaching and learning for liberal arts students.”
