Please remember that Washington and Lee students, faculty, and staff have continuing access to our library subscription databases, such as JSTOR and Academic Search Complete, as well as other online sources in the our Web site, from off-campus locations.
So, if you are home over the Thanksgiving Break but need to work on that research paper, you should be able to get to our research databases from just about any location.
Important: You must enter any such database by navigating through the library Web site: http://library.wlu.edu
When you first attempt to get into a database through our Web site, you will be prompted to enter your network ID and password. Once you do that, the proxy server will recognize you as a member of the W&L community.
(You cannot take short-cuts directly to database sites, such as going straight to www.jstor.org.)
A more long-winded and multi-faceted explanation is available here.
Have a great break and be safe!
Following is a multi-disciplinary sampling of online books added to the W&L University Library collection in the past month or so. The contents of a given book may be hosted by one of several online providers — such as Ebrary, EBL, Wiley, Gale, or Project Muse — so not all e-books look and function similarly. W&L faculty and students should be able to access these materials from just about any location; you may be prompted to enter your W&L network ID and password.
