As part of our mission to preserve Washington and Lee University’s institutional history, the University Library seeks to acquire and preserve copies of all W&L student honors theses. This effort extends back to the first decade of the 20th century and now includes the option to perserve and make available theses in online form.
We encourage current students working on honors theses to submit a digital file of the completed thesis for our Digital Repository through this online form (available only to students).
A student may choose to allow freely available online access to his/her thesis, to restrict online access to the W&L community only, or to allow the library to make only a printed copy available. One other option is to make the work available only after an initial embargo period.
You can view a more-or-less complete list of items in our honors thesis collection in Annie, the library catalog.
If you have questions or concerns about submitting theses, the online form, or the Digital Repository, please feel free to contact Digital Scholarship Librarian Alston Cobourn by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or phone (540-458-8657).
