100+ Years of the Ring-Tum Phi Now Online

The Washington and Lee University Library is pleased to announce that its painstaking digitization of the student newspaper The Ring-tum Phi is now complete through the spring of 2013, with all available issues accessible online through the University’s Digital Archive.

You can view the digitized Ring-tum Phi via the University Library’s link to the Digital Archive or by finding the Ring-tum Phi entry in the library catalog.

The Phi probably is the longest-running record of life at W&L, and the latest additions extend our online coverage to include 1897 through 2013.  For various reasons, some issues of the Phi are missing from the database — Volume 18 (1914-1915), Volume 22 (1919), Volume 31 (1927-1928),  and Volume 32 (1928-1929).   The Phi was not produced in 1944-45.
Those of you looking ahead to the 2016 Mock Convention might be interested in the Phi‘s coverage of the 2012 convention (and more).

If you have questions about this project or about the Digital Archive program, please feel free to contact Digital Scholarship Librarian Alston Cobourn at cobourna@wlu.edu or 458-8657.
