Below are instructions for browsing, searching, navigating, and printing when using the Oxford Digital Reference Shelf (DRS) ebook interface.
Click on the "Browse" option In the green navigation bar near the top of the page tol open an alphabetically-arranged list of entries in the work.
The initial screen includes a "Search" option which will search the complete text of the work you are looking at.
To find articles containing a multi-word phrase, enter the words within quotation marks. Example: "common law"
To search for various forms of a word, use an asterisk (*) as a wild-card term.
Example: critic* will find critic, critical, criticism, etc.
The results of searches are arranged by relevance, with those articles containing search words in the title or other prominent location.
When you are viewing a list of entries, options for printing and e-mailing the entries are displayed above the list.
When you are viewing an individual entry, options for printing and e-mailing the entries are displayed in green on the left side of the screen.
The "Print This Entry" option will re-format the page for printing with your browser.
The "Email This Entry" option will present a fill-in-the-blank form.
