IngentaConnect InTouch
Washington and Lee has a site license to the Ingenta InTouch journal alert service to help you stay up-to-date on the latest information in your fields of interest. This is an automated alerting service that delivers periodical tables of contents directly to your e-mail address. It allows you to select from over 29,500 publications indexed in the Ingenta database. When the latest issue of one of your selected publications is added to the database, its table of contents will be emailed to you. You may enter an unlimited number of journal titles. Additionally, the service permits you to create search strategies, which will in turn deliver article and book titles to you when the Ingenta database finds a match. You may enter an unlimited number of search strategies. This service is free to all university faculty.

Getting the full text of the article
- First try to click on the citation link sent to you over e-mail to find out if the library can provide the full text to you. "WebBridge" will indicate if we have full-text access to the article. This is the most cost-effective and fastest option.
- If not available from our library, you may use the Interlibrary Loan service.
Online journal collections with Table of Contents alerts
Many Electronic Journal Collections we subscribe to also have an alert service. In general, you select the journal you want the TOC for, and sign up from there. When you get an email alert, or your RSS feed, you can directly to the full-text of these articles. Please contact a librarian if you encounter difficulties.
Oxford Journals Online (journal example: Alcohol and Alcoholism)
Annual Reviews (journal example: Annual Review of Clinical Psychology)
ScienceDirect (journal example: Environmental Research)
Many individual online databases now provide email alerting or RSS services for journal titles. For information, please see a Reference Librarian.
