Library Reserves are maintained by the Circulation Department for faculty convenience. Generally, items on reserve supplement course material to ensure availability for all the students in a class. Books, articles, copies of material no longer available from usual markets, videos and recordings are typical examples of reserve materials.
Faculty are strongly encouraged to place materials, to be used on reserve, at the beginning of the term. Faculty are advised to be particularly careful to place videos used in class on reserve so that all students are given equal access. Copies of articles must include all bibliographic information to assist in securing copyright permission. Faculty are advised that additional time to process requests for copyright might be necessary, so they should plan accordingly. Please see Copyright Policy for Materials on Reserve to expedite placement of these items on reserve.
Materials to be placed on reserve may be brought to the Circulation Desk of either Leyburn of Telford and the necessary forms completed there, or an email may be sent to the reserve mailbox. See Course Reserve Requests. To obtain more information about placing items on reserve, see Reserve Guidelines for Faculty. Faculty may also contact the Access Services Manager directly with questions, instructions and requests at x8645.
