Historical Wall Street Journal

Thanks to a subscription initiated by the Washington and Lee Law Library, all W&L students, faculty, staff, and on-campus researchers have online access to the historical archive (1889-1993) of the Wall Street Journal.
Here is the access page in the library’s Web site.

The searchable database provides full-text “article images” (PDF’s) of the many thousands of articles in the WSJ, some as old as the first issue in 1889.

This product is very similar to two others to which the University Library subscribes, the Historical New York Times and the Historical Washington Post.

All three of these research tools are accessible from the Newspapers — Historical collection in the library’s Web site.
