The Washington and Lee University Library recently acquired online access to three new multi-volume encyclopedias which are likely to be landmarks in their fields for years to come.
Each of these electronic books is accessible to W&L researchers from both on-campus and off-campus locations. The links below take you to records in Annie, the library catalog. Additional links may appear in course guides and elsewhere in our Web site.
Handbook of Psychology
Twelve-volume set (2nd edition; 2012) is a major reference in the field, intended to “provide a comprehensive overview of the current status and anticipated future directions of basic and applied psychology and to serve as a reference source and textbook…”
International Encyclopedia of Media Studies
Six-volume set (2013) includes over 175 essays which explore “media as it is being practiced, produced, and analyzed in Asia, Africa, the Americas, Australia, and Europe.”
International Encyclopedia of Ethics
Nine-volume set, published in 2013, contains 700 alphabetically-arranged entries, some up to 10,000 words in length.
