The Washington and Lee University Library is ordering a new book by Richard G. Williams, Jr. entitled Lexington, Virginia and the Civil War (History Press, March 2013).
One of the ways authors gather material for such books is to work with experts in the field, and this volume’s “Acknowledgements” includes the following: “I would like to thank the good folks at the Leyburn Library, Special Collections, Washington and Lee University. Seth Goodheart’s passion and enthusiasm for Lexington’s history, along with his assistance in obtaining images for the book, was indispensable. I feel as if I’ve made a new friend in Seth.”
Congraulations to Seth and the rest of our Special Collections staff — who, frankly, do this sort of thing all the time.
More information on the book is available from the publisher.
