Tuesday 17 September marked the national celebration of Constitution Day, intended to “commemorate the formation and signing on September 17, 1787, of the Constitution and recognize all who, by coming of age or by naturalization, have become citizens.”
Elements of Washington and Lee University’s calendar of events are taking place within Leyburn Library.
At 4:00 PM Professor Holt Merchant will deliver a talk in Northen Auditorium on “George Washington and the Constitution.”
We also are hosting a Main Floor display labeled “Are These the Best Books on the Constitution?,” along with a companion Web site, U.S. Constitution — A Student Guide.
A complete schedule of events is posted here.
