We have a new face in the Washington and Lee University Library’s Special Collections and Archives.
Byron Faidley, a 2007 Virginia Military Institute graduate, with a major in history, began work on 7 January 2014 as Special Collections Assistant. A native of Covington, Virginia, Byron has worked most recently as a visitor services assistant and interpreter at the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway Heritage Center in Clifton Forge and also served as administrative assistant at the Alleghany Historical Society.
Under the supervision of the Head of Special Collections and Archives, Byron will process archival and manuscript collections related primarily to regional, state, and local history, as well as those related to W&L. Likewise, he will be participating in the ongoing development of the unit’s processing, digitization, and cataloging procedures for archival and manuscript collections.
We invite you to visit Special Collections (on Lower Level 1 of Leyburn Library) to greet our new colleague.
